How to Properly Store the Used Excavator?

Hi, I'm Tom, a construction site manager. We recently finished a big project and now have an excavator not in use. It's a sizable investment, so I'm worried about how to store it properly to prevent any damage or wear. How should I go about this? I don't want to risk any unnecessary repair costs due to poor storage practices. Can anyone provide some solid advice on how to properly store a used excavator? Thanks in advance!

Hello Tom, properly storing an excavator is crucial to maintain its longevity.

First, clean the excavator thoroughly to remove any dirt or debris as these can cause corrosion over time.

Next, park it in a sheltered, dry place to protect it from weather conditions. If this isn’t possible, use a heavy-duty cover. Ensure all moving parts are well-lubricated to prevent rusting.

Finally, disconnect the battery and empty the fuel tank to avoid any potential damage. It’s also advisable to periodically start the engine during storage to keep it in good running condition.

I hope this helps, Tom!
